Traveling to New York City? Here are the top 10 things you need to do!

New York City has something to offer everyone. If you are traveling to New York City, there are plenty of attractions that you won’t want to miss out on. Here are the top 10 things you need to do when visiting this great city!

1) Visiting The Brooklyn Bridge

Visiting the Brooklyn Bridge is a must-do when visiting NYC. The view of Manhattan and Brooklyn, including Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center, is one that will always leave you with a smile on your face. This has been one of my favorite attractions in New York City.

2) Eat Bagels

Bagels have their own unique taste that most people adore. If you're visiting NYC, get on a train and go to one of the oldest bagel shops in Brooklyn (Bantam Bagels) or stop by Murray's Bagels in Manhattan for the original Strawberry Cream Cheese bagel sandwich. Another popular spot is Ess-a-Bagel where some say they have the best bagels in town.

3) Take a stroll in Central Park

Central Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in NYC, but there is so much more than meets the eye. Whether it's ice skating in winter or enjoying a quiet walk during any other season, Central Park will not disappoint. It is also very important for visitors of all ages to see Belvedere Castle and Bethesda Terrace (the site of Tony award-winning musical West Side Story).

4) Go on a Coney Island date

Coney Island is one of the best places in NYC for a date night. You can go to Luna Park and take rides on thrill-seeking rides, such as Astro Lunge and Eruption. There's also all kinds of delicious food for your date, like hot dogs and candy apples at Nathan's Famous and soft-serve ice cream from Tiki Rock.

5) Shop along 5th Avenue and Soho

Shop along 5th Avenue and Soho : There is no shortage of luxury stores along 5th Avenue. Whether you're in the market for diamonds, designer clothing, or handbags, there is something for everyone. While checking out the merchandise, be sure to stop at FAO Schwarz toy store and marvel at its big toy soldier display in front of the store. Explore SoHo and take a walk on side streets while browsing boutique after boutique where there is sure to be something unique.

6) See some Broadway shows

Broadway shows, if not an obvious choice for a person coming to New York, is one of the most enjoyable activities in the city. Broadway was named for its location on Broadway street in Manhattan and has been synonymous with popular theater productions since it's inception. Shows include famous plays such as The Lion King, Les Miserables, and Wicked.

The theatre district covers 42nd Street from Times Square to Herald Square and theatres can be found at every corner.

7) Spend a day at The Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art is a great place to visit for both an art enthusiast and for someone who just wants some gorgeous architecture. The museum has three floors with two spaces on each floor.

The first space on each floor tends to have contemporary pieces of art while the second space on each floor features more modern works. Spend as much time at this museum as possible, as it is truly one of a kind.

8) Hit up Chinatown, Little Italy, and more

Chinatown, arguably one of the most famous parts of New York City, is always packed with people from all over. It has been a large port city for a very long time and has grown in importance alongside other cities like Hong Kong and Shanghai. If you're looking for an authentic experience or an interesting photo opportunity (not your typical touristy photo) then make sure that Chinatown is on your list of places to go while in New York.

9) Check out Times Square before it changes for good

Times Square has been a landmark of NYC for decades. Now that it is undergoing major changes, people can still visit and experience Times Square in all its colorful glory. There's no telling when it will be done, but visitors can still see this lively part of Manhattan from Broadway as well as take photos with some of their favorite billboards before they're gone for good. It's a one-of-a-kind experience that won't be available much longer!

10) Walk across The Brooklyn Bridge at Sunset

The Brooklyn Bridge is a majestic sight, and crossing it during sunset will give you spectacular views of Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge is really something special at any time of day, but if you have an opportunity to cross it during sunset it should be at the top of your list. The best place to take in all the sights from a distance is from one of the end points - especially if that's your first visit.
